Artist Connect is tailored to artists, art educators, and those exploring a career in arts education. It's a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between experience and aspiration, providing a space for fostering relationships, sharing insights, and nurturing creativity. Join us for an evening of light refreshments as we network and share ideas with fellow artists, educators, and members of the community in an open and casual setting.

Bring along a friend, colleague, or anyone keen on exploring the world of arts and arts education and immerse yourself in thought-provoking artist talks delivered by teaching artists Atiba Thomas and Elaine Ponce.

Atiba Thomas, a teaching artist specializing in artmaking for youth, will share her expertise in assemblage and mixed media. Join her as she discusses her artistic practice and guides us through her "Junk It Up" art lesson. Discover how to transform found objects and recycled materials into unique works of art, exploring the potential of mixed media as a catalyst for connection and community.

Elaine Ponce, a visual artist, and teaching artist, focuses on creating art that honors and celebrates our natural world. Through themes of ecology, folklore, and community, Elaine's work aims to inspire appreciation for the wonders of the outdoors. Join the discussion on sustainable art practices and learn how to forge deeper connections with your work and the world around us through Elaine's insights into art and teaching.
