School Partners
Center for Community Arts partners with local schools to provide in-school and after-school artist residencies. Through these residencies, students work with teaching artists and use the arts as a tool for discovery and exploration. Community Arts works with school leadership to connect teaching artists with classroom teachers to integrate the arts into the curricula.
In-School Artist Residency Program
The Teaching Artist Residency Program helps students develop lifelong tools that promote self-expression, empathy, communication, and joy through arts education. Through the arts, students work independently and collaboratively to become self-directed learners and leaders.
Program Model
Residencies are ten hours over the course of ten weeks. Teachers collaborate with teaching artists to produce a program that is unique to their classroom needs. Teaching artists meet with students once a week for in-person instruction.
