Multi-Age Classes (36 – 60 months) 

Community Arts Preschool at Civic Park is a multi-age, play-based program that starts at 36 months. This program uses developmentally appropriate practices to encourage and respect students’ interests and individual learning styles. The integrated curriculum focuses on these areas:

• Language and literacy
• Mathematics and science
• Social studies
• Social and emotional development
• Visual arts

Children are immersed in collaborative play and learning as they continue to develop their language skills. We deepen their emerging ideas and interests in small group learning stations. Students must be 3 years old by September 1 of the school year and be fully potty trained.

TK Enrichment Afternoons (44 – 60 months) 

New this year! TK Enrichment Afternoons will be offered at our Civic Park location for students that are eligible to attend TK programs with their school districts. Join us as a supplement to your TK morning class for hands-on learning, play, and exploration!

TK students will join our afternoon preschool class starting at 1:30 pm.  Students will engage in hands-on science experiments, art projects, music and movement. TK Enrichment Afternoons will provide your child with additional learning opportunities that promote critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and social skills in a supportive, relaxing environment.

Please note: Due to pending TK class assignments with school districts, there is no registration fee or withdrawal fee for this program if you enroll before September 1.

Location and Schedule

Our preschool is located in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. We embrace our urban setting and make it a part of the curriculum. We offer two Mixed-Age programs that operate four days a week throughout the year. All classes are half-day (3 hours), morning or afternoon.
